STEP 2: DEFINE YOUR WHY
DEFINE WHY YOUR BRAND IS THE RIGHT FIT FOR THIS IDEA
This is when you take a step back and look at your idea and decide why you believe it is the right fit for this brand.
You will look at the brand's mission statement, USP (unique selling proposition), goals, target audience, most urgent problems, etc.
Does your idea for a pos item, event, activation, etc., truly fit with what the brand stands for and what they are trying to achieve in the way they are trying to achieve it? If "yes," now is your time to explain why you believe so.
THIS SERVES TWO PURPOSES:
- To show that you have a deep understanding of the brand.
- To demonstrate why this idea will help the brand achieve its objectives.
For Example, The Activation: Cocktails for a Cause "Signature Serve Daiquiri program."
Overview: Accounts place a "Cocktails for a Cause" Daiquiri on their menu, the service will include a signature garnish provided by the brand. The garnish is a small flat paper-seed circle with the image of planet earth on one side and a QR code on the other. The paper seed garnish is organic and sustainable and can be planted in the ground and would grow flowers. The QR code leads to the website about the brand (where they can also purchase the product) and the charitable website. Accounts need to purchase a minimum of two cases to participate in the program.
WHY IS THE ACTIVATION A GOOD FIT FOR THE BRAND? a good way to explain this is to look at the brand's USP (unique selling proposition)
2) WHY IS THE BRAND THE RIGHT FIT FOR THE DAIQUIRI (Since the activation is for the signature serve of a classic Daiquiri, we wanted to explain why the brand has a unique position when it comes to this common cocktail)
3) WHY IS THE DAIQUIRI THE RIGHT COCKTAIL FOR THE ACTIVATION- (We explained why the Daiquiri was the right choice for this particular activation.)
